The General Overseer of Grace Nation Worldwide, Pastor Chris Okafor, has opened up on what he described as one of the darkest and most dangerous periods of his life, claiming he survived 58 days in chains, blindfolded and repeatedly forced into armed police confrontations by sheer divine intervention.

Speaking during a recent church service, the popular Lagos-based cleric told his congregation that he was blindfolded for 58 consecutive days, with chains and fetters on his hands, adding that he wore nothing but his boxer throughout the period.

According to Pastor Chris Okafor, the ordeal went beyond unlawful detention. He alleged that on three separate occasions, he and others, including a former Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, were bundled into the boot of an SUV and driven to police stations while gunfire erupted around them.

“They put us inside the boot of that small SUV they call Murano,” he said. “Hands and legs blindfolded, and they will be exchanging fire with police people.”

The cleric further claimed he was detained three different times, each time under similar conditions, insisting that survival was not by human strength.

“If gun no fit kill me, poison no fit kill me, you think say na human being go fit kill me?” he asked.

Quoting scripture, Pastor Okafor added, “He shall give His angels charge over me,” attributing his survival to divine preservation rather than chance.

While he did not disclose the exact timeline of the alleged incidents or name the agencies involved, his revelation has sparked reactions online and within religious circles, with supporters describing the story as a testimony of faith, while critics question the circumstances surrounding the claims.

Meanwhile, away from the controversy, the outspoken preacher has also made headlines for a more personal reason. Pastor Okafor recently married his longtime partner in a low-key wedding ceremony held in Lekki, Lagos, attended by close friends and associates.
