“This is the standard expected of a modern justice sector, and our goal is clear: to build a justice sector that is modern, efficient, and above all, citizen-driven,” Fagbemi said.

President Bola Tinubu is determined to ensure a justice sector that delivers timely outcomes for Nigerians.

Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), said this at the launch of the Federal Ministry of Justice’s Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) in Abuja, a digital platform that enables the ministry to manage official documents electronically.

Fagbemi described the move as a shift from manual processes to a fully digital system. “By digitalising our correspondence, emails, and legal documents, we are dismantling the bureaucratic bottlenecks that have historically slowed the wheels of justice,” he said.

He added that the transition supports the Federal Civil Service Strategy and the Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasising that the ECMS is not just a technological innovation but a governance reform that improves decision-making, enforces discipline, and strengthens institutional memory.

“This is the standard expected of a modern justice sector, and our goal is clear: to build a justice sector that is modern, efficient, and above all, citizen-driven,” Fagbemi said.

The minister also highlighted staff welfare and workplace modernisation as priorities, aligning the ministry with broader civil service reforms. He thanked the Aig-Imouekhede Foundation, Prof Koyinsola Ajayi of Olaniwun Ajayi & Co., staff, sister ministries, and partners for their support.

Mrs Jeddy-Agba, in her welcome address, noted that in eight weeks, the ministry had scanned and uploaded 6,241 physical files comprising 331,297 pages into the ECMS. “By digitising our emails, files, and communications, we are adopting a modern, paperless culture that prioritises efficiency and transparency,” she said.
