The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) on Monday, warned motorists against reckless and uncoordinated driving during the festive season, in a bid to avoid road crashes.
The South-West Zonal Commander of TRACE, Mr Adekunle Ajibade gave the warning while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota.
He said that the advice had become necessary for the simple reason that “life has no duplicate”.
Ajibade underscored the need for motorists to take adequate rest and sleep, adding that driving in a sleepy mode could spell danger.
“We urge motorists who are traveling, to look for a safer place to rest whenever they are tired.
“They should also ensure that all vehicle components especially the brake system, are functioning well,, and also reduce their speed because speed kills,” he said.
Ajibade implored motorists to obey traffic rules and regulations so as to ensure sanity during the festive season.
He also enjoined motorists to desist from drunk-driving to avoid unnecessary loss of lives.
