Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has appointed Temitope George as the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission, in a move aimed at strengthening regulatory oversight and accelerating reforms in the state’s electricity sector.
The appointment was conveyed in a memo issued on Tuesday by the Lagos State Head of Service, Bode Agoro, which noted that George’s nomination is subject to confirmation by the Lagos State House of Assembly.
According to the memo, Governor Sanwo-Olu has approved George’s nomination as CEO of the Commission, with the appointment set to take effect upon her confirmation by the lawmakers.

George, who is currently the Lead Partner for Energy, Infrastructure and Policy at Adegbola-George & Co, brings over two decades of experience spanning legal practice, regulation and governance.
She has advised governments, multinational companies and development institutions across infrastructure, energy, construction and Public-Private Partnerships.
Her professional track record includes leadership roles in structuring large-scale infrastructure projects, navigating regulatory approval processes, negotiating complex commercial contracts and ensuring compliance with national and international governance standards.
Industry observers say her background positions her to play a critical role in shaping Lagos State’s evolving electricity landscape.
The Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission is expected to play a central role in driving efficiency, investor confidence and consumer protection in the state’s power sector, as Lagos continues to pursue greater electricity autonomy and improved service delivery.
