AFCON: Amount Davido won after predicting Eagles’ victory revealed

Nigerian music star Davido, has reportedly earned a massive payout after correctly predicting the outcome of Nigeria’s opening match at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Assurance crooner placed a wager on the Super Eagles’ Group C clash against Tanzania in Fes, Morocco, predicting that both teams would score in the fixture. His forecast proved accurate as Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory over the Taifa Stars on Tuesday.

Reports indicate that Davido earned $96,564 (around N150 million) from the successful bet.

During the match, Nigeria dominated possession but fell behind early after Tanzania took the lead. The Super Eagles fought back to level the scores before Ademola Lookman’s late strike sealed the win.

The victory strengthens Nigeria’s position in Group C as they aim for a fourth AFCON title. The team will now focus on their next group stage match to build on the opening day success.
