Two Kano lawmakers die within minutes

Kano State was thrown into mourning on Wednesday following the sudden deaths of two serving members of the Kano State House of Assembly, who reportedly passed away within minutes of each other.

The deceased lawmakers are Hon. Aminu Sa’adu (also known as Aminu Saad Ungogo), who represented Ungoggo Constituency, and Hon. Sarki Aliyu Daneji, the lawmaker representing Kano Municipal Constituency.

Reports indicate that Hon. Aminu Sa’adu died first, while news of Hon. Daneji’s death broke shortly afterwards, sending shockwaves through the Assembly and the state at large.

As of the time of filing this report, the causes of their deaths have not been officially disclosed.

The tragic development was confirmed by Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, via a post on his verified social media handle.

“Innalillahi Wa Inna Ilaihirrajiun,” Dawakin Tofa wrote, announcing the passing of Hon. Daneji shortly after that of his colleague.
The Kano State House of Assembly and political stakeholders across the state have since been inundated with condolence messages over the double tragedy.
