Popular Nigerian influencer Toseen, widely known as TeeTalksUnited, has cautioned the Super Eagles to brace for a demanding encounter when they face Tunisia in their next fixture at the 1xBet AFCON 2025 in Morocco.
Toseen, who is currently in Morocco working with global betting company 1xBet to project the passion and reactions of Nigerian fans at the tournament, expressed confidence in the Eagles’ quality but stressed that the challenge ahead will be far tougher than their opening game.
While applauding Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Tanzania, she said the team must raise their level against a stronger Tunisian side. The influencer also expressed optimism that her earlier prediction of a 2-1 win could be repeated.
Speaking on Nigeria’s first match, Toseen said: “The Super Eagles played very well on Tuesday. Of course, we thought they would score more goals but, unfortunately, they could not.”
Looking ahead to Saturday’s clash, she added, “So, for Saturday’s game versus Tunisia, I think they just have to increase their momentum. That’s where they will face a tough competitor.”
Toseen further analysed the dynamics of the group, noting that Tunisia sit at the top of the standings after a convincing 3-1 win over Uganda, which came shortly after Nigeria’s victory against Tanzania.
She said: “Tunisia won their game 3-1, and they are on top of the table. We already knew Tanzania would have an easy game … but was it really easy? I’ll say yes-no.”
According to her, the Eagles must sharpen their attacking edge and decision-making if they are to secure a favourable result.
“This means our Eagles just have to increase their momentum for the next game. They have to be sharp in front of the goal and, hopefully, they will get a better result,” she said.
However, Toseen raised concerns about the technical approach during the Tanzania match, particularly the timing of substitutions.
“But, I think the coach needs to work on his substitutions. There were some players who stayed too long in the game versus Tanzania. I don’t think those players should have stayed on that long. So, the coach has to make substitutions way earlier,” she stated.
She went on to assess individual player performances and offered her projected starting line-up against Tunisia, notably leaving out Ademola Lookman and Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Explaining her views, she said, “I think someone like Akor Adams was a good addition in that game. I just think Eric Chelle needs to sharpen his substitutions and make sure he gives his players more ‘ginger.’”
Toseen also commended the coach’s overall tactical direction while acknowledging the difficulty of past fixtures.
“His tactics, in my view, worked well, up until that game against DR Congo, which we all knew was going to be a tough one. All the same, I think he’s doing a great job,” she said.
On her preferred attacking setup, she added: “So, for the game versus Tunisia, I will go for Akor and (Victor) Osimhen again upfront, with (Samuel) Chukwueze behind them, because he has been boiling since joining Fulham.”
She explained her renewed faith in Chukwueze’s form, saying: “Before now, I wasn’t really impressed with him in Nigeria’s games, but he has been in form recently, and we have to capitalise on that.”
Toseen further named Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, and Moses Simon as key midfield and wide options, while praising defender Semi Ajayi for his goal against Tanzania.
“There should also be (Alex) Iwobi, of course, and (Wilfred) Ndidi in the middle and Moses Simon on the right wing, while the backline should have (Semi) Ajayi, scorer of that brilliant goal on Tuesday,” she said.
Completing her projected line-up, she added: “Then Calvin Bassey should be there in the centre with (Bruno) Onyemachi and Zaidu (Sanusi) on the side and (Stanley) Nwabali in goal.”
In conclusion, Toseen warned that the Tunisia clash could prove difficult, admitting she fears the match might end level despite hoping for another narrow Nigerian victory.
“I know it’s going to be difficult. So, they have to be very, very dogged … sharp in attack and alert in defending. That goal we conceded against Tanzania was such a cheap one. It was due to lack of focus,” she said.
She added: “So, once we correct all those lapses, we should get a narrow win against Tunisia … maybe 1-0 or 2-1, who knows? I predicted 2-1 against Tanzania, and it happened.”
However, she ended on a cautious note: “The same thing may happen on Saturday against Tunisia … but I’m also scared that it may end in a draw,” TeeTalks Toseen concluded.
