AFCON: Full list of top scorers after round one as Golden Boot race heats up

Algeria captain Riyad Mahrez has climbed to the top of the goal scorers’ chart at the ongoing 2025 1XBET Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, following the completion of the latest round of group-stage matches on Wednesday.

Mahrez is currently joint-leading scorer with two goals, sharing the spotlight with Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson and Tunisia forward Elias Achouri.

The former Manchester City winger netted both of his goals during Algeria’s emphatic 3–0 win over Sudan, underlining his influence as the Desert Foxes continue their campaign.

Jackson also registered a brace to power Senegal to victory against Botswana on Tuesday, while Achouri struck twice to inspire Tunisia’s win over Uganda on the same day.
