However, many of his claims did not match what fans and other journalists experienced on the ground.

During the opening match of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) between Tunisia and Uganda, a Tunisian journalist appeared on national television to criticize the stadium, organization, and ticketing in Morocco.

However, many of his claims did not match what fans and other journalists experienced on the ground.

The journalist said that the Stade Olympique at the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex was completely uncovered. In reality, about half of the stadium is covered, offering protection for many spectators. Photos and videos shared on social media showed Tunisian fans enjoying the match, singing, and cheering throughout the game.

He also claimed there was no electricity and that the press conference room suffered a power outage. This was not true. Journalists present confirmed that the lights were on. Any confusion may have come from camera angles or lighting issues during his TV appearance.

The journalist raised concerns about working conditions, mentioning cold weather and rain. While winter weather can make reporting uncomfortable, this is beyond the control of organizers.

Other reporters at the stadium said media facilities were properly arranged and allowed them to work without serious problems.

Another claim was that fans had difficulty getting tickets. However, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) had clearly announced that tickets were available through the Yalla App. Reports from the venue also showed that organizers allowed many fans without tickets into the stadium. Transport services, including buses, were provided in Rabat to help Tunisian supporters reach the venue.

On the pitch, Tunisia defeated Uganda 3–1, and the atmosphere inside and around the stadium was lively. Many fans praised the organization of the tournament and the welcoming environment.

Several Tunisian supporters spoke positively about their experience in Morocco, highlighting the warm reception from locals. One fan even urged people not to spread stories that could create tension between Tunisians and Moroccans, describing the event as peaceful, friendly, and enjoyable.

Journalists are expected to report facts accurately. In this case, reports from fans, journalists, and officials show that the overall experience at the stadium was far more positive than what was claimed on television.
