The Super Eagles trained on Sunday evening as they prepared for their 1XBET Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 match.
Twenty-five players took part in the training.
However, Striker Cyriel Dessers did not train with the team. He suffered a thigh injury and has left the camp to return to his club for medical treatment.
Ryan Alebiosu was present at the training ground but did not join the session because he is still recovering from a leg injury. Tochukwu Nnadi also missed training after coming down with a cold.
There were no fresh injury concerns for the team. All the key players trained fully. Victor Osimhen took part in the session alongside Ademola Lookman, who has scored two goals in the tournament, and Raphael Onyedika.
Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali could return to the starting line-up after he was rested in Nigeria’s final group match against Uganda.
Other players who trained include Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze, Charles Bassey, and others as the team prepares for Tuesday’s important match against Mozambique, also known as the Black Mambas.
Head coach Eric Chelle told the players that their group-stage success no longer matters.
He urged them to focus fully on the knockout stage as they aim to progress further in the competition.
Nigeria and Mozambique would clash on Monday night in Fez to fight for the tournament’s AFCON quarter-final ticket.
