Real Madrid produced a ruthless attacking performance to dismantle Real Betis 5–1 in their La Liga clash on Sunday at the Bernabéu.
The hosts set the tone early, pressing aggressively and pinning Betis deep. Their dominance paid off in the 20th minute when Gonzalo García rose unmarked to head home a precise delivery from Rodrygo, opening the scoring.
Madrid continued to dictate the tempo and doubled their advantage shortly after the break, with Federico Valverde supplying another incisive pass that García converted clinically from the edge of the box.
Betis struggled to cope with Madrid’s movement and aerial threat, and the pressure told again in the 56th minute when Raúl Asencio powered home a header from a Rodrygo corner to make it 3–0.
Although Betis briefly rallied through Cucho Hernández, who finished a fine solo run to reduce the deficit, Madrid quickly reasserted control.
Substitute Arda Güler played a key role off the bench, threading a clever pass for García to complete his hat-trick with an audacious back-heel finish for 4-1.
Deep into stoppage time, Fran García capped the performance with a well-taken strike following Valverde’s cross.
Watched by a crowd of 75,190, Madrid’s emphatic victory underlined their attacking depth and tactical control, while Betis were left to reflect on defensive lapses exposed by the league leaders’ relentless intensity
