How Anthony Joshua’s mother caused the tragedy – Actress Lizzy Anjorin

Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin has stirred controversy online after reacting to the tragic road accident in Ogun State that claimed the lives of two close friends of British-Nigerian boxing star Anthony Joshua.

In a video currently circulating on social media, Anjorin blamed the boxer’s mother for allowing him to travel to his hometown during the festive season, instead of keeping him in what she described as more secure areas of Lagos.

According to the actress, Joshua should have been advised to stay in high-security neighbourhoods such as Lekki, Ikoyi, or Banana Island during his visit to Nigeria, especially given his global status and the heavy movement of people during the holidays.

“Anthony Joshua’s mother is to blame. She didn’t put her son in a better place like Lekki or Ikoyi. She watched him go back to his village for the festivities,” Anjorin said.

She further questioned the decision, insisting that a world-famous sports figure should not move freely in less-secured areas during crowded periods.

“What reasonable mother would watch her son go back to that kind of place? Why couldn’t she put him somewhere like Ikoyi or Banana Island?” she added.

The tragic accident, which occurred in Ogun State, reportedly claimed the lives of two of Joshua’s companions, while the boxer himself narrowly escaped death.
