Minister of State for Health, Dr. Isiaq Adekunle Salako, has accused the opposition parties of taking advantage of ignorance of some Nigerians on the tax reform of President Bola Tinubu to create fears among the populace.

Salako said some of those criticizing the policy haven’t studied it properly.

Speaking with newsmen on Saturday at Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi’s Thanksgiving and end of year party, Salako highlighted the benefits of some of the reforms of President Tinubu elimto include reduction in prices of food stuff, citing reduction in the price of rice, elimination of fuel queues and gradual ease in insecurity challenges in the country.

Salako questioned the opposition’s alternatives, asking if they’d reintroduce fuel subsidies or maintain the official-black market exchange rate disparity.

He emphasized the naira’s international recognition, allowing card transactions globally.

On stamp duty, Salako clarified that the N50 charge applies to transactions above N10,000, paid by the initiator, contrary to misconceptions.

“The opposition has nothing to offer except lies,” Salako said, urging Nigerians to stick with the APC’s progressive policies that according to him, are improving lives.
