Quick Read

Odu announced that she has joined the APC while addressing stakeholders during a tour of the six zones of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of the state on Sunday.

Rivers deputy governor, Professor Ngozi Odu, said he dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as part of the move to further strengthen the support base of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Siminalayi Fubara ahead of the 2026 presidential election.

Odu announced that she has joined the APC while addressing stakeholders during a tour of the six zones of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area of the state on Sunday.

She revealed that she has registered as a member of the APC at her Akabuka, Ward 8, Unit 11 in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA).

Odu also noted that e-registration into the APC was ongoing.

He noted that Governor Fubara had joined the APC a few weeks ago.

The Deputy governor therefore appealed the people of the area to demonstrate their support for President Bola Tinubu and the governor by registering massively with the APC.

“The move is to further strengthen the support base of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, noting that six zonal meetings had already been held to facilitate the actualisation of the plan.

“Today, I came to sensitise the people, and everywhere we went, there were large crowds who came out to receive us. They said wherever I go, they will go with me, and wherever Governor Fubara and President Tinubu go, they will go.

“You can see the joy and happiness. I have touched all the six zones — Egi, Omoku, Osomini, Igburu, Egbema and Ndoni,” Prof. Odu stated.

Recall that some members of Rivers House of Assembly had also defected to the APC some weeks ago.

In the same vein, some members of National Assembly had also dumped the PDP for the APC
