Rivers SSG Anabraba dumps PDP

The Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Benibo Anabraba, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Anabraba announced his decision in a resignation letter dated January 5, 2026, addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 1, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of the state.

In the letter, he described his decision to leave the party as personal, while expressing gratitude for the opportunities and political leverage he gained during his time as a member of the PDP.

Although he did not state his next political destination, sources indicate that Anabraba is expected to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
