The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has confirmed that the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream I orientation exercise will begin simultaneously across the country on Wednesday, 21 January 2026.

The announcement was made via a statement shared on the scheme’s official X platform on Tuesday, outlining key dates for the programme at all 37 NYSC orientation camps nationwide.

According to the statement, registration for prospective corps members will open on the first day of camp and run until late Friday.

“Camp Registration for all Corps Members will take place from Wednesday, 21st to midnight of Friday 23rd, January, 2026.”

The NYSC further disclosed that the formal induction of corps members will follow shortly after registration.

“The Swearing-in Ceremony holds on Friday, 23rd January, 2026, while the Closing Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 10th February, 2026.”

In a goodwill message to participants, the Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, encouraged corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling to their assigned states. He specifically cautioned against embarking on journeys at night.

NYSC management also called on all participants to comply fully with the orientation timetable, stressing that strict adherence to the outlined schedule is necessary for the smooth conduct of the programme nationwide.
