17-year-old charged with murder of Temitope Onetufo

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of John Temitope Onetufo, 23, who was fatally stabbed in south London.
The incident occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Eve on Grove Street, Lewisham. Police were called to the scene at around 12:35am, and emergency services, including paramedics and an air ambulance, rushed to assist.
Temitope, a Nigerian-British man from Deptford, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The teenage suspect, who cannot be named due to his age, is expected to appear before Bromley Magistrates’ Youth Court.
In connection with the case, a 23-year-old man initially arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on bail. Additionally, an 18-year-old woman was arrested on January 4 on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and has also been granted bail.
Police investigations are ongoing as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding Temitope’s death.
