Shehu Sani, a former Kaduna Senator, has reacted to the reports claiming that 141 million Nigerias are expected to live below the poverty line.
Sani via his X handle on Thursday, debunked the report made by the PricewaterhouseCoopers, PwC. He stated that the report was released at a time when the state and local government are recording an increase in revenue received.
Sani described the report as alarming, stating that it is a time bomb that needs to be addressed before it causes more damage.
“The report by the PricewaterhouseCoopers, PwC, that about 141 million Nigerians are expected to live below the poverty line is alarming. That is more than half the population of this country. It’s ironic that this report comes at a time when the States and LGs are receiving more money than any other time in the history of this country. This is a time bomb that must be addressed to prevent a national social uprising,” he stated.
