Kolade Dominate Expands Footprint in Nigerian Music Industry Through Executive and A&R Roles

By Sola Adepitan

Victor Akolade Olowu, known professionally as Kolade Dominate, has extended his presence in Nigeria’s entertainment sector beyond radio broadcasting and media outreach into executive roles on several high-profile music projects.

Dominate, a veteran on-air personality and talent manager, served as executive producer on DJ Neptune’s third and fourth Greatness series albums, Greatness III (2024) and Greatness IV (2025). According to industry reports, the partnership between Dominate’s media and management company and DJ Neptune’s Ceemusics label contributed to the continuity of one of Nigerian music’s most commercially visible album series. Greatness IV, released in late 2025, followed Greatness III after both projects attracted attention for their extensive artist collaborations and strong streaming performance across the continent.

Dominate’s executive-level involvement reflects a broader trend in which media personalities in Nigeria leverage industry networks to participate in music production beyond traditional promotional roles. In his capacity with 10O8 World, a Lagos-based media, talent management, and promotional firm, he has been closely associated with DJ Neptune’s creative campaigns, including the hit 2023 single “Bienvenue” and the Greatness 2.0 project prior to 2025.

In addition to his work with DJ Neptune, Dominate is reported to have undertaken Artists and Repertoire (A&R) functions on other artists’ projects. Social and industry sources suggest he provided A&R support on Dotman’s Hakuna Matata album — a body of work notable for its blend of pop and street-pop sensibilities — though official credit listings for the project do not publicize specific behind-the-scenes roles.

In the context of Nigerian album credits, A&R involvement typically includes guidance on artistic collaborations and track sequencing rather than production execution. (Industry sources.)
Similarly, Dominate is said to have contributed to Unfinished Business, the 2025 album by producer ID Cabasa, in an advisory A&R capacity. Unfinished Business has been characterized in music press coverage as a reinterpretation of classic tracks, pairing the producer’s legacy with contemporary performers across Afrobeats and street-pop genres. Public documentation of detailed personnel beyond primary production and performance credits is limited, and outlets covering the album focus predominantly on Cabasa’s curatorial role.

Industry analysts view Dominate’s evolving portfolio as part of a shift in the Nigerian music ecosystem in which figures with strong media platforms increasingly occupy cross-functional roles in artist development and project coordination. While traditional executive producers typically oversee financial and logistical elements of a recording project, the engagement of media and management executives in A&R tasks reflects the fluid nature of creative partnerships in contemporary Afrobeats and related genres.

Dominate began his career in radio in 2013 and has since held prominent presenting roles across Lagos-based stations. He is currently general manager of Lasgidi 90.1 FM and deputy head of broadcast services at Inspiration 92.3 FM.

He also founded 10O8 World in 2018, which has positioned itself as a strategic partner for artists seeking to expand audience reach and creative collaboration.
