President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Super Eagles following their impressive victory over Algeria in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations.

In a message posted on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, the President described the team’s performance as “brilliant” and “inspiring,” assuring the players of the support of Nigerians as they continue their quest for continental glory.

“Brilliant performance… Inspiring. Go, Super Eagles! You have the support of all Nigerians,” Tinubu wrote.

The Super Eagles sealed a 2–0 victory over Algeria in Marrakech, with goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams, securing Nigeria’s place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Nigeria has emerged as one of the standout teams at AFCON 2025, combining attacking flair with disciplined defending as they pursue a fourth continental title. The team’s consistent performances have continued to raise hopes among fans and football analysts across the country.

President Tinubu’s message adds to the growing wave of national support following the Super Eagles’ latest triumph, with political leaders, former players and fans rallying behind the squad.

Nigeria will now face Morocco national football team in the semi-finals, as the Super Eagles aim to maintain their momentum and book a place in the final.

The Super Eagles previously lifted the Africa Cup of Nations trophy in 1980, 1994 and 2013.
