Delhi housing society chief, Rachna Yadav, who is a key witness in her husband’s murder case, has been shot dead.
The 44-year-old Rachna was on Saturday shot at point-blank range in Shalimar Bagh, northwest Delhi, with CCTV footage capturing the accused fleeing on a motorcycle.
Police are suspecting the killing to be a fallout of the 2023 murder of her husband.
Rachna, a resident of Shalimar Bagh was President of the Resident Welfare Association (RWA) of her community.
She was originally from Bhalswa village.
According to local media reports, she was shot in the head and died on the spot.
Police informed that a PCR call was received at around 10.59 am at Shalimar Bagh Police Station, reporting that a woman had been shot with local police teams rushing to the spot and founding Rachna lying on the road in a pool of her blood.
An empty cartridge was reportedly recovered from the scene.
During investigation, police found that Rachna’s husband, Vijendra Yadav, was shot dead in 2023.
Investigators suspect that her murder might not be unconnected with the case, which is currently under trial.
