American Hollywood couple, Meagan Good and Jonathan Majors have been granted Guinea citizenship after conducting a DNA test.
The duo who traced their ancestry back to West Africa, took a trip to Guinea for the fist time after their discovery.
The minister and chief of staff of the presidency, Djiba Diakité, presented the actors with their passports during a citizenship ceremony held in their honour.
“We both believe that you are among the worthy sons and daughters of Guinea to represent our country and the red and green flag throughout the world,” he said.
Meagan also expressed her excitement for the experience, stating that she sees her connection to Guinea growing into something stronger in the nearest future.
“We just want to say thank you so much. We could absolutely see ourselves having a home here and spending meaningful time in Guinea. This is not a fleeting connection – it’s something we see as long-term and evolving,” she stated.
