Operatives of the Eagle Raiders Squad of the Edo State Police Command have dismantled a seven-man criminal network linked to the killing of a Point of Sale (PoS) operator in the state last week.

The suspects were arrested during a targeted operation that also led to the recovery of firearms and a vehicle allegedly used to carry out the crime. Items recovered include a locally fabricated eight-round revolver, a single-barrelled pistol, and a white mini-bus with registration number NNE 74XD (Anambra).

Confirming the arrests, the police spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, identified the suspects as Idemudia Enadeghe, Musa Abdulsalam, Kelechi John, Stefan Braimah, Wisdom Osasere, Miracle Osayande and Miracle Monday.

According to her, preliminary investigations revealed that all seven suspects admitted to being members of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity cult group.

In a related development, the Edo State Police Command has also arrested a woman, Martina Dachung, in connection with the sale of a baby for N1.4 million in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area.

ASP Ikoedem disclosed that further arrests were made following the incident, including the matron of Eguavon Medical Centre, Uromi, identified as Ighalo Grace, as well as one Oha Promise, both of whom were allegedly involved in facilitating the illegal transaction.

Police said investigations into both cases were ongoing, as efforts continued to dismantle criminal networks and prosecute those found culpable.
