A 26-year-old Iranian, Erfan Soltani, is to be publicly executed today in Iran’s first death sentence linked to the anti-Khamenei protest, which entered its 20th day on Wednesday.
The Khamenei regime moved fast from his “trial” to the execution stage. Soltani’s family got just ten minutes to say goodbye to him.
For days, Erfan’s family did not know where he was.
Days later, according to local media reports, a word came from the security apparatus of the regime of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, informing them that Erfan had been sentenced to death.
The family was told they could see him once, for ten minutes to say goodbye.
Erfan, arrested during the protests on January 8, was scheduled to be executed Wednesday, January 14.
He had defied warnings from the Khamenei regime not to join the protest.
He would be the first to be executed in relation to the ongoing nationwide anti-Khamenei protest.
He was charged with “Moharebeh”, meaning “enmity against God”.
Erfan’s family, now frightened, has been warned not to speak to anyone, with authorities threatening that more family members would be arrested if they did so.
