Super Eagles head coach, Eric Chelle, has expressed uncertainty over his future with the Nigerian national team, saying the decision rests with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Chelle made this known during the post-match press conference following Nigeria’s 4–2 defeat to hosts Morocco in the semi-final of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Rabat.
According to the coach, discussions about his continued stay will only take place after the tournament, as his immediate focus remains on the third-place playoff match against Egypt.
“At the moment, my full attention is on the third-place match against Egypt,” Chelle said. “After AFCON, I will meet with the NFF to discuss my future.”
Following their semi-final victory, Morocco will face Senegal in the AFCON final on Sunday January 18 in Rabat.
