“In the next two years, you will see many changes in Benin City. Development will cut across the board.”

Gov. Monday Okpebholo has promised significant transformation in Benin within two years, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to Edo’s overall development.

His Chief Press Secretary,  Patrick Ebojele, said on Wednesday the pledge followed an inspection of ongoing projects in Udomi, Esan Central Local Government Area.

Projects inspected included a 150-bed specialist hospital, a town hall, and a holiday resort featuring a golf course and other tourism facilities.

Addressing stakeholders, Okpebholo said Edo’s rich history should inspire modern development, not restrain progress across the state.

He said: “Edo cannot continue to be an ancient city. We must improve it and leave it better than we met it.

“In the next two years, you will see many changes in Benin City. Development will cut across the board.”

The inspection tour was attended by senior government officials and party leaders, including Cecil Isegaigbe and Sylvester Aigbobor.
