Anu Adeleke’s mother, Ayo Labinjoh, has taken to Instagram to respond to Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke (Davido) over the ongoing DNA controversy surrounding her daughter.

The saga resurfaced yesterday after Davido broke his silence on social media, confirming that multiple DNA tests, five in total, had been conducted, and dismissing the claims of Anu and her mother. In a post on X, he wrote:

“After 5 DNA test … she dey crase .. her and her mom better leave me the fuck alone and go find her papa …”

He also denied knowing Labinjoh personally and described their only interaction as the testing process.

In her Instagram post, Labinjoh refuted the singer’s statements and defended both her daughter and herself.

She stressed that she is not Davido’s “baby mama” or a “bitch”, and described the emotional toll the saga has taken on Anu, revealing that the teenager cried for days, fainted in school, and underwent psychotherapy after years of bullying.

Labinjoh alleged that Davido had ignored her for years due to misconceptions about her background, clarifying that she was a waitress, not someone “picked up on the streets”. She further stated that she comes from a good family, adding that her late father dedicated his life to the betterment of Nigeria before he was poisoned.

Labinjoh also challenged the handling of previous DNA tests, alleging:

“To my shock she was trending on X because her dad needed to call me a bitch that he’s never met yet he subjected himself to a DNA test 5X? Last time it was his lawyer who brainwashed Nigerians that there were 2 tests done and I chose the hospital. Dr Deji Adeleke took us to a lab, not a hospital, where Anu’s blood was drawn in 2014, then discarded behind our backs and a fake result was printed.”

She added that Davido had threatened and bullied both her and her daughter, prompting her to consider requesting supervision from the US State Department for an independent DNA test. Labinjoh emphasized:

“I’m not fighting for my daughter. My daughter is fighting for her identity. The language used was awful. My daughter did not beg to be here. Saying you’ve never met me or telling your family that I was a prostitute is wrong. Bullying my daughter is WRONG 😔.”
