Taskforce busts hoodlums terrorizing Lagos drivers

The Lagos State Environmental Taskforce (LASEMA) has intensified operations against hoodlums terrorizing drivers in the state, arresting six individuals involved in violent attacks.

According to a statement by Tokunbo Wahab, Commissioner, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, the taskforce’s operation commenced around 9:30 a.m. on Friday, targeting criminals who have reportedly been taking advantage of vehicles that broke down along major roads to dispossess drivers of their valuables.

The operation focused on Maryland and the entire stretch of Ikorodu Road, where the six suspects were apprehended and taken into custody for prosecution.

“All suspects will be arraigned as soon as possible,” the statement added, reaffirming the state’s commitment to ensuring public safety.

The taskforce reiterated its #ZeroToleranceLagos campaign, warning that such criminal activities will not be tolerated on Lagos roads.

Authorities have urged drivers and commuters to remain vigilant and report any criminal activity to the relevant security agencies immediately.
