Bello Matawalle, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence and former governor of Zamfara State, is preparing to host an unprecedented mass wedding ceremony in Abuja, where nine of his children will be married on the same day.
According to an invitation card circulating on social media, the joint nuptials are scheduled for 1:30 pm on 6 February 2026 at the Central Mosque in Abuja.
The celebration will see five sons and four daughters of Matawalle wed their respective partners in a single ceremony.
The invitation lists the names of the couples, including Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi and Farida, underscoring the unique scale of the event.
All Progressives Congress spokesperson in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, confirmed to journalists that preparations are in advanced stages to ensure a smooth and well-organised ceremony.
Idris said the occasion represents an important family milestone and emphasised that committee members were working to finalise logistics for the high-profile event.
