Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has commended the Nigerian Police for their swift action in apprehending suspects involved in the murder of a Kano housewife and her six children.
In a statement on Sunday, Obi described the tragic incident as “a deep sorrow in our hearts as a nation” and urged law enforcement agencies to maintain the same efficiency in tackling other criminal activities, including kidnapping and banditry.
“If we continue to see such decisive actions from our law enforcement agencies, we will undoubtedly witness a significant decline in crime within our communities,” Obi said.
Responding to Obi’s commendation, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), tweeted:
“Thank you, sir, for the commendation. We confirm to you that we are not relenting in our fight against crime and criminality. That much IGP Kayode Egbetokun assures.”
