CAF President Patrice Motsepe has spoken on Burna Boy’s challenge at the Moroccan airport while travelling to headline the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Fan Zone concert in Rabat.
The incident which went viral sparked reactions from fans who questioned the custom officers for holding the Grammy-Award winning artist at the airport.
Motsepe, however, in a press conference, explained that he was held over an jewelry issue. He revealed that the situation was settled amicably after his intervention.
“Recently was called that I need intervene because Burna Boy was stopped at the airport after customs officers noticed his heavy and beautiful gold jewelry. I intervened and it was resolved,” he stated.
