AFCON: Oliseh to reveal truth behind Super Eagles’ performance

Former Super Eagles captain and ex-coach, Sunday Oliseh, has announced that he will finally speak out on Nigeria’s performance at the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), after deliberately staying silent throughout the tournament.

Oliseh, who was part of the AFCON commentary team, said he chose not to speak publicly during the competition to avoid becoming a distraction to the team.

“I didn’t speak during the tournament because I didn’t want to be a distraction. I let the football do the talking,” Oliseh said in a post shared on X on Tuesday.

However, with the tournament now concluded and the trophy decided, the former Super Eagles midfielder said it was time to reveal what really went on behind the scenes.

“But now that the trophy has been decided, it’s time for the truth,” he declared.

Oliseh disclosed that he would be addressing the real reasons behind Nigeria’s AFCON performance, the hypocrisy he faced, and what genuinely needs to change in Nigerian football.

He announced that the full details would be unveiled on Wednesday via his YouTube podcast, Global Football Insights With Oliseh.

“This Wednesday, I’m revealing the real reasons behind Nigeria’s AFCON performance, the hypocrisy I faced, and what really needs to change,” he added.
