The father of late Afro-fuji singer Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has cried out over the disappearance of his son’s SUV, just days after the artiste’s death.
In a viral video shared on Tuesday, the grieving father appealed to Nigerians for help, alleging that the vehicle was returned to a car dealership and has not been seen since.
He disclosed that the SUV was purchased from Lycon Autos, adding that he personally accompanied Destiny Boy during the transaction.
According to him, the dealership provided a driver to deliver the vehicle to their residence on the day it was bought. However, the situation reportedly changed after the driver was retained by the late singer for personal use.
Trouble began when the driver allegedly claimed Destiny Boy was owing him and returned the SUV to Lycon Autos without the family’s knowledge.
“My son has a car, and the car is with Lycon Autos. We went together to buy it. They gave him a driver to bring it home. Later, Destiny started using the driver personally. The driver said my son was owing him, so he took the car back,” the father said.
He added that he does not even have the driver’s contact details and would have gone to retrieve the vehicle himself if he knew its whereabouts.
PM NEWS reports that Destiny Boy died on Sunday at the age of 22.
Earlier, the singer’s mother revealed that her son had battled a long-term illness before his death, which she described as a mysterious condition that caused frequent seizures.
She dismissed rumours circulating online that the late musician was involved in money rituals, describing such claims as false and insensitive.
