Arsenal’s bright start was rewarded after sustained pressure, with Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze both testing Inter’s defensive resolve.
Inter responded in the 18th minute through Petar Sucic, who collected a rebound on the edge of the box and rifled a fine strike into the top corner to restore parity. The equaliser briefly lifted the home side, with Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram both going close before the interval.
Arsenal regained control just after the half-hour mark. In the 31st minute, Jesus struck again, reacting quickest inside the area to head home a rebound and restore the visitors’ advantage, marking his second goal of the night.
The goal capped a dominant spell in which Arsenal’s midfield, marshalled by Declan Rice and Martin Zubimendi, dictated the tempo.
Inter pressed for another equaliser after the break, forcing several saves from David Raya, but Arsenal remained composed.
Their superiority was sealed in the 84th minute when substitute Viktor Gyökeres unleashed a thunderous strike from outside the box, the ball flying into the top corner to put the result beyond doubt.
