Nigerian singer Portable has jumped into the raging feud involving Wizkid, Seun Kuti and the Kuti family, launching a fresh verbal attack on the Grammy-winning superstar.
Portable, in a viral video circulating online, took a swipe at Wizkid following the singer’s recent outburst against Seun Kuti and the legendary Kuti lineage, where Wizkid allegedly claimed to be “bigger than Fela.”
Reacting angrily, Portable dismissed Wizkid’s claim and openly questioned his impact, relevance and street credibility compared to Afrobeat icon Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and even himself.
“Wizkid said he’s the new Fela; has he been to prison before? I’ve been to prison multiple times. I’m bigger than Wizkid,” Portable bragged in the video.
The Zazu crooner further challenged Wizkid on social impact, asking who the global star has truly helped.
“Who you help?” Portable asked, insisting that he has fed people on the streets, shared food, and changed lives directly.
According to Portable, being called the “new Fela” goes beyond music fame or international awards, but requires sacrifice, struggle and street-level impact — qualities he claims Wizkid lacks.
“If anyone should be called the new Fela, it should be me, not Wizkid,” Portable declared.
The explosive comments have further fueled online debates, with fans divided over Portable’s audacity and Wizkid’s controversial remarks about the Kuti family.
