American singer and songwriter Charles Otto Puth Jr. popularly known as Charlie Puth has expressed his disappointment in the Oscar nominations announced on Thursday.
The 34-year-old on his X handle, spoke about Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo’s performance on Wicked: For Good. He claimed that the actors were snubbed by the organisers of the awards ceremony.
“Ariana and Cynthia not getting nominated for Wicked is such a disappointment. I don’t watch a lot of movies, but I believe the amazing musicality they both showcased should be acknowledged,” he wrote.
Although Wicked: For Good didn’t receive any Oscar nominations, Cynthia was recognized for her performance of Elphaba with a nomination at the 2026 Golden Globes, while Ariana’s performance of Glinda was nominated for a Golden Globe as well as Best Supporting Actress at the upcoming Actor Awards.
