Four men have been sentenced to lengthy prison terms following a brutal shooting in east London that left one victim paralysed and another seriously injured.
The sentences were handed down on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Snaresbrook Crown Court, where the group received a combined jail term of more than 80 years for their roles in the attack.
The incident occurred in the early hours of October 26, 2024, when two brothers were shot while walking their dog in Thorne Close, Canning Town.
Shortly after 2:00am, the brothers were chased by two men who emerged from a stolen Audi. CCTV audio later captured seven gunshots before the attackers fled the scene in the vehicle.
One of the victims, aged 36, was shot through the hand. His younger brother, 28, suffered a gunshot wound to the back, leaving him paralysed down one side of his lower body. Police recovered five 9mm Makarov bullet casings from the scene, as well as a balaclava containing DNA linked to one of the attackers.
Detective Sergeant Ryan Findleton, who led the investigation, described the attack as a “shocking and targeted act of violence” that resulted in life-changing injuries for an innocent victim.
He said the sentences reflected the determination of officers to bring dangerous offenders to justice and expressed hope that the outcome would provide some comfort to the victims and the wider community.
Following a detailed investigation, detectives traced the stolen Audi using CCTV footage, identifying Ronnie Hill, Esmaela Seidi, a 16-year-old boy and Kennedy Senga as those responsible. The group had travelled from South Woodford to Canning Town armed with knives and a loaded firearm.
Police arrested Senga, Seidi and the teenager in December 2024, while Hill evaded capture until March 2025, when officers found him hiding inside a divan bed at a friend’s home after a prolonged manhunt. A loaded handgun, an imitation firearm and live ammunition were recovered during the search.
After an eight-week trial, the jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts on October 20, 2025. Hill, 18, was sentenced to 24 years in prison. Seidi, also 18, received 18 and a half years, while the 16-year-old was jailed for 14 and a half years. Senga, 19, was sentenced to 21 years.
A fifth man, Abdul Ahmed, 21, who was not involved in the shooting itself, was convicted of assisting an offender after helping Hill evade arrest and was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
