AFCON final scandal! Senegal star blows whistle on Morocco poisoning teammates

A major controversy has erupted after Senegal defender Ismail Jakobs alleged that members of the Moroccan camp attempted to poison Senegal players ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Jakobs made the shocking claim while speaking about what he described as a bizarre and frightening incident that occurred before the decisive clash.

According to the left-back, several Senegal players suddenly fell ill under suspicious circumstances.

“I can’t say exactly what happened because I don’t have all the evidence,” Jakobs said. “It wasn’t just normal food poisoning with vomiting. Niang, Diatta and Matar Sarr were really drowning. It was very frightening. They couldn’t even pull their tongues back in.”

While stopping short of directly naming Morocco, Jakobs insisted the incident was no accident.

“I don’t want to accuse anyone, but this was certainly not an accident,” he added.

Despite the alleged incident, Senegal went on to defeat Morocco in the final, with Gueye scoring the winning goal in extra time to hand the Teranga Lions their second AFCON title.
