Former first lady Florence Ajimobi has disowned a viral video in which she was seen purportedly boasting that the All Progressives Congress, APC will treat the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State as war.
Florence, the widow of the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi was seen in the video purportedly boasting that the APC will deploy money and federal might in the battle against the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Oyo State.
But in a statement on Saturday, she disowned the video, describing it as AI generated.
She noted that forensic review of the video will review that it is “a synthetic fabrication created using generative AI.
“The footage is a “deepfake,” where artificial intelligence has been used to manipulate the lip movements and voice to deliver a script that Dr. Ajimobi never spoke,” Ajimobi said.
She also noted that the viral video is a is a clear example of the “synthetic deception” that experts have warned will be used to influence the 2027 political cycle.
