Liverpool crumble as Bournemouth snatch last-minute victory

AFC Bournemouth pulled off a stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Liverpool at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday, handing the Reds a painful defeat in the Premier League.

Bournemouth took control early, with Evanilson opening the scoring in the 26th minute following a defensive error from Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk. Just seven minutes later, Álex Jiménez doubled the Cherries’ lead, assisted by Jordon Ibe Hill, leaving Liverpool struggling to respond.

Liverpool fought back before halftime when Van Dijk redeemed himself by heading Dominik Szoboszlai’s free-kick into the net, reducing the deficit to 2-1. In the 80th minute, Szoboszlai curled in a spectacular free-kick to level the score, setting up a tense finale.

However, in stoppage time, Bournemouth snatched victory when Amine Adli pounced on a loose ball in the box, following a chaotic scramble after a long throw-in. Despite Liverpool’s late pressure, the Reds could not find another equalizer.

The win marks a huge boost for Bournemouth, who have now shown they can compete with the league’s top sides at home. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s struggles continue as they drop valuable points in the title race.
