The All Progressives Congress (APC) has lashed out at recent media reports suggesting a possible replacement of Vice President Kashim Shettima as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, CON, the party described the reports as “purely speculative, untrue and utterly baseless,” urging media organizations to avoid amplifying rumours from sources of “questionable provenance” whose sole aim, the party said, is to promote discord and confusion in the polity.

The APC emphasized that, under current laws and electoral regulations, the ban on political activities remains in force, and that the party remains focused on supporting President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in delivering its Renewed Hope Agenda, implementing reforms, and improving living conditions across the country.

The party further called on ministers, senior government officials, and party leaders to avoid, wittingly or unwittingly, fueling speculation, and instead concentrate on their primary duty of diligent service to the government and the party.
