Global mobility platform inDrive has provided over ₦75 million in humanitarian assistance to Lagos residents displaced by recent demolition exercises, supporting more than 2,000 affected individuals and families.
The relief intervention, carried out in partnership with humanitarian organisation Tolu Aniwura Welfare Foundation (GenerousMe), was held at St. Paul Catholic Church, Ebute-Metta.
It targeted households rendered vulnerable by the demolitions, offering immediate support to help them cope with displacement and loss.
Beneficiaries received a wide range of essential items, including staple food supplies such as rice, beans, garri, noodles, spaghetti, cooking oil, tomato paste, seasoning cubes and salt.
The support also covered clothing, blankets, sleeping mats, mosquito nets, rechargeable lamps, power banks and baby care products. Children from affected families were provided with school packs containing bags, exercise books and writing materials to minimise disruption to their education.
The initiative also extended assistance to individuals who had previously benefited from inDrive-supported social impact programmes, underscoring the company’s sustained commitment to community development and long-term empowerment across Nigeria.
Speaking on the intervention, Country Representative, Timothy Oladimeji, said the effort reflects inDrive’s people-first philosophy and its resolve to respond swiftly to pressing social challenges.
“At inDrive, our responsibility goes beyond mobility services. It includes standing with communities in moments of need,” Oladimeji said.
“The recent demolitions left many families exposed and vulnerable. Through our partnership with GenerousMe, we were able to respond quickly and responsibly. This intervention reflects our commitment to fairness, empathy and keeping people at the centre of everything we do.”
Also speaking, Partnerships Lead at GenerousMe, Adetola Alade, described the collaboration as effective and timely.
“Partnering with inDrive enabled the swift and coordinated delivery of aid. We prioritise speed and collaboration in responding to urgent humanitarian needs, and working with inDrive on this project was a rewarding experience,” he said.
inDrive said it remains committed to deepening its presence in Nigeria by combining technology-driven mobility solutions with impactful social initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable communities and promoting inclusive growth.
