Fans slam Nkechi Blessing for bringing up Imisi’s family feud at birthday party

Big Brother Naija season 10 winner, Imisioluwa Eniola Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, experienced an emotional moment during her birthday party in Lagos on Tuesday, January 27.

The event, attended by former BBNaija housemates Tacha, Phyna, Bisola Aiyeola, Kola, comedian Broda Shaggi, and actress Nkechi Blessing, among others, quickly took a tense turn when Nkechi Blessing publicly asked Imisi if she had forgiven her estranged mother.

The question prompted visible discomfort from Imisi, whose facial expressions revealed pain and hesitation, leaving other guests awkward before the host swiftly moved the conversation along.

The moment has sparked heated reactions on social media, with many criticising Nkechi Blessing for bringing up a sensitive personal issue at a celebratory event. Fans expressed their disapproval, with one writing:

“I’ve never rated Nkechi Blessing’s actions, but why on earth would she publicly ask Imisi if she would forgive her mother for all that she’s done to her? Nkechi had all the time in the world to ask Imisi; why choose to do that at her birthday soiree? That’s so immature and profoundly foolish.”

Another user added:

“Nkechi Blessing deserved the backlash. Some lines shouldn’t be crossed. Dragging someone’s family trauma into her birthday celebration isn’t ‘real talk,’ it’s poor emotional intelligence.”

Others joined the debate, saying:

“Nkechi Blessing is not smart at all. Why ask her at her birthday party? Eye service Abi?? Shey she was with Imisi days back?? Why didn’t she ask? Everything they’ve said about her is actually true.”

One fan expressed frustration in no uncertain terms:
