Comments on social media included:
@iamqneth: “The Bible says we should not make a mark on our skin. The Bible hasn’t changed, so hmm…”
@ladyrosabel: “For those of us who have something to say but chose not to, may the peace of the Lord be with us.”
@iamkingdinero1: “Just know God personally. Don’t let anyone introduce their own God to you. Find your God and know Him for yourself.”
@sailorojay: “It baffles me. Does this pastor not know it’s a sin to tattoo his skin? Pastors should lead their members according to the Bible, not pick verses that only suit them.”
@papcy_valery: “Leviticus 19:28 – Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.”
Okonkwo, who is well-known for his teachings on marriage and relationships, has not publicly commented on the controversy.
