President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after successfully completing a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye.
The President arrived in Abuja on Saturday evening. His aircraft, an Airbus A330, landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at exactly 8:55 p.m.
The Presidency confirmed his return in a brief statement issued to journalists covering activities at the State House on Saturday night.
President Tinubu began the official trip on Tuesday. During the visit, he held several high-level meetings with Türkiye’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and other top government officials.
The discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Nigeria and Türkiye. Both leaders explored new areas of cooperation and ways to expand existing partnerships that will benefit both countries.
The visit ended with the signing of nine bilateral agreements. These agreements cover key sectors such as defence, energy, security, scientific research, and other strategic areas considered important for national development.
President Tinubu was accompanied by senior government officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar; the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi; the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.); and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
The Presidency said more details about the agreements and outcomes of the visit will be made public in due course.
