Former Big Brother Naija housemate Pere Egbi has advised young single women in Nigeria against living alone, citing safety and security concerns.
Egbi gave the advice in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), where he encouraged women to live with trusted friends or family members rather than staying by themselves.
According to him, having someone around at all times offers companionship and significantly improves personal safety.
“Personal advice to young women living in Nigeria who are single: don’t live alone by yourself. Have someone stay with you always — a friend or family member. It’s never a cool thing to live alone as a woman,” he wrote.
The reality TV star’s comment followed the recent death of Abuja-based singer Ifunanya Nwangene, who reportedly passed away after suffering a snake bite in her residence.
When asked by a social media user whether his advice was connected to the incident, Egbi replied, “Everything,” stressing that living alone poses risks not only to women but to everyone.
He added that companionship and shared living arrangements could help reduce emergencies going unnoticed and improve overall wellbeing.
