Nigerian singer and song-writer, Chidozie Godsfavour Ugochinyere, popularly known as Fave, has cried out over an alleged restriction during Ramadan in Nigeria.

The artist on her X handle, claimed that artists are not allowed to organise shows in Nigeria during the Ramadan fasting period. She explained that she found out about the directive while trying to organise a show for her birthday in March.

Fave explained that she kept experiencing setbacks and receiving rejected proposals from promoters. She lamented about the restriction, stating that a religious activity should not affect others’ businesses.

”So I was tryna do a show in Nigeria on my birthday this year but they’re telling me shows aren’t allowed during Ramadan? I’m a little confused. I grew up in the south and never heard of Ramadan practices till I was in my late teens. I respect all religions. But I’m Christian and I really want to do this on my birthday so if you’re reading this and are open to organize, I’d be so happy,” she wrote.
