Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has addressed what she described as hurtful rumours circulating within the entertainment industry, stating that the claims have taken an emotional toll on her.

The actress, who shared her concerns via her Instagram page, condemned the spread of false information about individuals, describing such actions as damaging and unnecessary.

She questioned the motive behind peddling unverified claims about people’s personal and professional lives.

Olayode clarified that she remains open to collaborating with filmmakers across the industry, stressing that her willingness to work with producers and directors is only limited by her personal values and beliefs.

The actress reiterated her long-standing decision not to engage in kissing scenes in movies, explaining that the choice is based on her spiritual commitment and dedication to her faith.

According to her, “There have been different stories and lies told about me in this industry. I never addressed any, but I heard one a few days ago that truly broke my heart. I don’t think people understand how destructive some words can be and how words can wound. I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would choose to lie about another human being. To what end? Why? It is true that I wouldn’t kiss in movies.”

She further stated that criticism of her acting abilities or personal preferences does not bother her, but deliberate misinformation is unfair and hurtful.

“It’s okay if you don’t like me. It’s okay if you say I’m not a good actor; it’s okay if you don’t want to work with me. But lying about me is deeply wrong and hurtful,” she added.

Olayode emphasised that there is no filmmaker she is unwilling to collaborate with, provided the storyline and her role align with her religious convictions.

“So I want to clear the air. There is absolutely no producer or director I cannot work with. I am open and willing to work with anyone, as long as the story and my role do not go against my consecration to God,” she said.
