Nigerian skit maker and actor Ganiyu Morufu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has accused officers of the Area ‘J’ Division of the Lagos State Police Command of assaulting him, confiscating his phone, and allegedly stealing $1,200 belonging to his brother.
In a video posted on his verified Facebook page, @Ijoba Lande 1, and widely circulated on social media on Friday, the entertainer was seen with visible injuries around his eyes, while bystanders tried to clean his face with water.
The footage also shows him inside what appeared to be a police station, attempting to lodge a complaint following the alleged attack.
Ijoba Lande, who returned to Nigeria from the United Kingdom just six days prior, did not provide details on the exact location or circumstances of the incident.
He claims that during the encounter, officers physically assaulted him, seized his iPhone 16 Pro Max, and took the cash.
