Saudi media personality Waleed Al-Faraj has criticized Cristiano Ronaldo after the player went on strike against the top clubs’ sponsors in the Professional League.
The Portuguese superstar has missed two league games while continuing his strike.
Al-Faraj stated that Al-Nassr will not beg Ronaldo to come back and that the team will remain strong even without him.
This contrasts with Al-Nassr fans, who have shown support for the 41-year-old, including protests during Al-Nassr’s 2-0 win over Al-Ittihad.
On his TV show “Action with Waleed”, Al-Faraj said:
“We will not bow down for the player. Are we going to beg him? Our country and our league are more important than any single player. Al-Nassr Club has always been, and will always be, a top club whether Ronaldo is here or not.”
Ronaldo has been key for Al-Aalami this season, scoring 18 goals and providing three assists in 22 matches across all competitions.
However, Al-Nassr has performed well in the last two games without him and is now just one point behind league leaders Al-Hilal.
